DIAMETER Project Online Reviews: Advancing Circular Manufacturing Together

We're pleased to announce that the DIAMETER project will hold its upcoming Online Reviews on Thursday, March 20th and Friday, March 21st, 2025. These sessions represent a critical milestone in our journey to revolutionize metal manufacturing through circular economy principles.

Following our successful Kickoff Meeting in Istanbul in November 2024, the consortium has been actively working on various aspects of the project. These review sessions will allow us to synchronize our efforts, assess progress, and chart the course for the coming months.

Session Details

Day 1: Thursday, March 20th

Our first day will focus on administrative and strategic matters, ensuring that all consortium members are aligned on project governance and communication:
•    Administrative issues
•    Template documents
•    Quality management plan
•    Introduction of the DIAMETER platform
•    Meeting structures and use of MS Teams
•    Next General Assembly planning (venue & time)
•    Review of submitted deliverables

Day 2: Friday, March 21st

The second day will dive into specific work packages, reviewing progress, addressing challenges, and planning next steps:

  • Review of WP1: Environment Definition and Data Acquisition (30 minutes)
  • Review of WP2: Building a Circular-by-Design Manufacturing System Model (30 minutes)

The DIAMETER Consortium: A Global Alliance for Circular Manufacturing

The strength of DIAMETER lies in its diverse and complementary consortium, bringing together 18 partners across 9 countries with expertise spanning the entire circular manufacturing value chain. Led by Sabancı University, our consortium unites prestigious academic institutions (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, University of Sheffield, RMIT), renowned research organizations (Fraunhofer, CARTIF), innovative technology providers (ModuleWorks, Uni Systems, OC Group), and industry leaders (Turkish Aerospace, Valland SpA, Coşkunöz Kalıp Makina). This powerful alliance combines cutting-edge research in additive manufacturing with practical industry applications, ensuring that our innovations in circular manufacturing have immediate, real-world impact. Through international collaboration, including partners from Australia (RMIT University) and the USA (University of North Carolina at Charlotte), we're creating a truly global approach to one of manufacturing's most pressing challenges.

These reviews will help us maintain the strong collaborative spirit that was evident during our kickoff meeting, as we continue to develop innovative solutions for sustainable manufacturing.

Our consortium is working diligently to create AI-assisted tools and platforms that will enable the metal manufacturing industry to reduce its environmental footprint while maintaining economic viability.

We look forward to sharing more updates on our progress as we work together toward a more sustainable, circular future for manufacturing.
